There will be a solar eclipse on October 14th, called a “ring of fire.” Here is a video on the best state parks in Texas to see it.
Mayor Sylvester Turner gave his last State of the City address on September 27th. You can see it here. Not everybody believes he has been a great mayor but I think he’s done a pretty good job and I’m sad to see him go.
The Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavilion was named most popular venue in the world. I’m not surprised as I know first hand my fellow Houstonians like to have a good time. Yes to more tunes!
From the Good News Department: Harris County approved the 2024 budget and decreased the property tax rate.
Texas continues to be Texas and attract investment from big name companies. Google is spending $600 million to build a data center south of Dallas.

Surfside, TX – Last month, Client Kyle took us up on our offer to go fishing with FIG Real Estate! Kyle and Broker Michael Flint decided to go wade fishing in Surfside on a gorgeous sunny day, where this dynamic duo caught their limit of speckled trout. Cooked on the grill, with only salt, pepper and a generous amount of butter, these trout were delicious!

Houston Welcomes Refugees – FIG employees and new friend Daniel recently volunteered at the HWR warehouse preparing Welcome Kits for incoming families. This amazing organization helps refugees relocating to the US with next to nothing and provides the essentials needed to begin again in their new home. Thanks Daniel, you definitely earned your FIG t-shirt!
