October in the Heights with FIG

Fall is finally here, and the Heights is buzzing with festive fun! This October, our community is coming together for some of the season’s favorite traditions.

🏃‍♂️ The Heights Fun Run on Saturday, October 11th, brings neighbors out for a morning of fitness and camaraderie. Click here for more information or to sign up and run!

🎃The Hike, Bike & Fright Fest, hosted by M-K-T on October 26th, is the perfect time to eat, drink and be scary! A trick-or-treat trail, shopping at the pop-up market, singalong on the lawn, and photo ops at the pumpkin patch are just a few of the spooky delights.

💀 Buy your tickets online for the Houston Heights Halloween Bar Crawl. October 31st you can join fellow party enthusiasts for a night full of spine-chilling fun starting with the kick-off party at Cedar Creek! The event includes 4+ venues, live DJ’s, and a cash prize for the best costume.

👻 And of course, nothing beats the excitement of trick-or-treating on Halloween night, when the streets of the Heights come alive with costumes, candy, and community spirit!

If you make it to one of these events, please snap a photo and share! We’d love to see your photos and publish one in our next newsletter.

Don’t Fall For Clickbait!

Here’s What I Think Is Worth Reading:

The boutique Hotel Daphne on 20th Street is set to open later this year. New details have emerged about the restaurant. Could be a very cool addition to the neighborhood!
Justin Yu and Bobby Heugel are opening a new restaurant in the old Vibrant spot in Montrose. They have opened some of my favorite restaurants in Houston so I’m excited to see what happens here.
Tacos A Go Go is expanding! Including taking over the old Lola’s location on 11th St. and adding a bar with the help of Bobby Heugel. He’s been busy!
The Ismaili Center is set to be completed later this year along Allen Parkway. The 150,000 sq ft center occupies 11 acres and is the first of its kind to be built in the US.
A private citizen has stepped up to lead an $11.2M renovation of Pumpkin Park in River Oaks. Originally established in 1938, it’s a Houston institution.
The Ritz-Carlton announced the luxury hospitality brand will be bringing its first-ever branded residences and hotel to Houston in Uptown near the Galleria.
Eculent and the mad scientist chef are back! One of my big regrets was not going before it changed concepts. Although in my defense, it is in Kemah. I don’t plan on wasting this second opportunity!

And last but not least…

FIG Family Updates

As we mentioned, you’re one of us now. And we love to celebrate all the good news and events that are happening in the lives of the extended FIG Family!

Please email info@figtx.com and let us know what’s going on with you!

This month the FIG Family came together to volunteer at Woodland Park in the Heights! Our team and a dear client Lynn Hernandez worked side by side to build a new trail down to the bayou. Community service is at the heart of who we are at FIG, and we love giving back to the neighborhood where we live and work. Plus, everyone who volunteers gets a free FIG t-shirt. It’s our way of saying thanks for pitching in!
