FIG Real Estate will be celebrating Thanksgiving in the Heights this year and while some of us will be guests, others are going to be brave and host! We’ve done our research for every situation and we’re happy to share some of our holiday secrets:
As a guest: We’ve just discovered Graze HTX on 11th St. and their gorgeous charcuterie boards. They come in all the sizes and shapes, themes and ingredients you can imagine. We’ll be bringing one of these stunners as our contribution!
As a host: OG FIG Agent Ryan is currently taking orders for turkeys from his Rise and Shine Farm in Hempstead. And trust us, once you cook one of their organic, pasture raised birds, you will never buy from the grocery store again.
If you want to go out: If you prefer to hang up your apron and enjoy a meal cooked by a professional, book NOW! Here are our top picks in and around the Heights that will be hosting a Thanksgiving meal: Trattoria Sofia, Bludorn, and Rainbow Lodge.
And last but not least, this year’s Thanksgiving Day Parade begins at 9:00 a.m. Downtown at the corner of Lamar and Smith streets. See you there!
It’s official, the Texas real estate market has slowed down. You know what that means, right? It’s a great time to buy. I know, I know. Interest rates. But those are temporary. Do you know what else is temporary? Negotiating with Sellers, Seller Contributions and not competing with multiple offers. All of this is happening right now, which has helped some recent FIG clients get amazing deals. And when interest rates do lower, they will get an even better deal when they refinance!
Election Day is right around the corner and there are a couple of propositions that Realtors are supporting. They include Prop 1 (protecting the right to farm), Prop 4 (increasing the homestead exemption to $100,000), Prop 6 (establishing the Texas Water Fund), Prop 7 (establishing the Texas Energy Fund), and Prop 8 (expanding internet access across the state).
And last but not least…
FIG Family Updates
As we mentioned, you’re one of us now. And we love to celebrate all the good news and events that are happening in the lives of the extended FIG Family! Please email info@figtx.com and let us know what’s going on with you!
Nancy & Mike Schmitt – Last year FIG helped the Schmitts purchase this ranch style home, originally built in the 1970’s. And as some of you may recall, Nancy is the owner of the fabulous mother/daughter interior design firm Nancy Rae Interiors. So with 18,870 sq ft in Brairgrove Park to work with, you can just imagine what they’ve done with the place! Still in the midst of construction, we can see the start of something wonderful. Make sure to check out their stunning portfolio of work online, and check back with us for the AFTER photos!
