Have you noticed that the Heights has a new restaurant on 11th Street? The former pastry chef of Rosie Cannonball and the Goodnight Hospitality Group has opened Camaraderie, serving French/American dishes. Let us know if you go!
In other Heights restaurant news, Insomnia Cookies is set to open a shop on 19th. I’ve been told by a FIG Family member that their chocolate chip cookies are better than Tiff’s Treats. Blasphemy?! Maybe. With rumors of Tiny’s Milk & Cookies also moving to the area, we are getting ready for a showdown!
Finally some news on what’s going to happen to the southwest corner of Westheimer and Montrose. Skanska has begun leasing restaurant and retail space at the site and has released a rendering of the mixed use apartment tower. When will Skanska break ground you ask? That date remains unknown.
Renderings of the George R Brown Convention Center $2 billion expansion are now available. I’m pretty excited about their plans to use low carbon materials and solar power, and build a living roof with rainwater collection.
Say what you want about Tesla and Elon Musk but they are building a battery mega-factory in Brookshire. I think that’s good for Houston.
Has anyone been to Dig World? It’s on my family’s bucket list but we haven’t made it yet. It looks awesome and they just won a big Shark Tank investment to open another location.

Opening Day Tradition! – FIG client and childhood friend Bradley O’Neill has been joining Broker Michael for the Astros’ Opening Day since 2004… 21 years and counting! Now, with their kids in tow, the tradition lives on. A 3-1 victory over the NY Mets was just the icing on the cake.

Flint Birthdays – And speaking of icing, it was double the celebration as FIG Broker Michael and his son share a birthday in March! Michael’s leadership and passion continue to inspire the entire FIG team, and we’re grateful for all he does. Wishing you a fantastic year ahead!
