Will Interest Rates Go Below 5%?

Jerome Powell’s term as Chair of the Federal Reserve is set to expire this year, and President Trump has four finalists in mind to replace him. With leadership changes ahead, many are wondering what this could mean – the identity of the next Fed chair could influence how quickly, or how far, interest rates adjust.

The Federal Reserve plays a major role in setting the tone for borrowing costs across the economy, including mortgage rates. While no decisions have been made yet, markets are closely watching signals from the Fed and the White House for clues about the direction of future rate cuts. Trump has said numerous times he wants major cuts to the interest rate.

Leadership changes, inflation data, labor statistics and economic growth will all factor into what happens next, making this an important topic for homeowners and buyers alike.

Spring Branch is getting a 35,000 SF mixed use development along the Hike & Bike trail at Gessner, north of I-10. This project is brought to you by the same people who did M-K-T.
A video game streamer is putting his 11 acre mansion (with a moat!) up for auction in February. The property is located in Magnolia, just north of Houston.
The Galveston Bay Foundation secured a conservation easement on 450 acres of wetlands in Chambers County. Storm water buffering, providing space for wildlife and water filtration will be just a few of the benefits!
Zillow calls Houston currently the most Buyer friendly market in Texas, and 15th nationwide. Not sure about those other markets but I tend to agree with Zillow on this one.
Interest rates have hit their lowest point in more than 3 years! But if an interest rate falls in the forest and no one is around, does it still make a sound?
